We hope you have found our website informative and enjoyable. It took us just over two years to make it to Nova Scotia; Joy and frustration along the way.
Finally we landed and settled in Fall River just outside of Halifax, in a house we designed and had built.
Our two sons James and Dominic have thrived here and we could not be happier.
Orla’s background ranges from Nurse/Midwife to National sales management within Healthcare.
‘Coming from Northern Ireland, Nova Scotia has been somewhat of a homecoming, meeting people and helping them settle and integrate are my main goals for our clients’
Mike has worked for the London Fire Service for over 20 years and also has experience in the consumer electronics, antique and building industry. Mike is now a qualified realtor with Remax Nova.
‘Nova Scotia has so much going for it, my hope is, to explore the possibilities for our clients who move here’
I first met Mike and Orla Wilson from UK2 Nova Scotia at the Sandown Emigration Show in March 2006.
From the first moment I met them I felt extremely comfortable and was impressed by their knowledge and enthusiasm about Nova Scotia. Because I have a disabled daughter my application to immigrate was always going to be complicated, but because of their recommendation I have some very good immigration consultants now.
They are always willing to go that extra mile to get specialist information for me and are always available on the phone or by email. They have guided me through the process and introduced me to people who count. All their recommendations about Lawyers and real estate realtors have worked out really well. Their knowledge of the immigration process, and the decision makers involved has been invaluable.
Also often overlooked is the importance of local knowledge, such as best areas to live, schools, and access to amenities and highways. These are decisions that if made in haste can prove expensive when moving to a new country and culture. I have no hesitation in recommending UK 2 Nova Scotia; in fact it should be your first call.

Our move to and transition into Nova Scotian life was problem free and an enjoyable experience thanks to Mike and Orla Wilson.
We could not have achieved it without them, their knowledge of Nova Scotia and expertise in guiding people through the first settlement steps is invaluable. Do what they recommend and you can not go wrong.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all you help and advice. From the day we met you in UK you were nothing but extremely professional, friendly and helpful.
We've enjoyed your e-mails packed with many useful tips, advice and the latest relevant information. You've certainly made our move from UK to Nova Scotia more enjoyable, less stressful and turned it in a positive experience. We like your website which has everything that we need; it's perfect to be able to find all that in one place. There was never question too small or too silly that we didn't feel free to ask you. You've always answered all our queries straight away and we find you very approachable, knowledgeable and easy to talk to and your help didn't end there. Now that we've arrived in Nova Scotia your service is invaluable to us. We just don't know how you manage to have so many useful contacts (who we found to be very professional. We are glad that we met you and that we decided to use your service which is very professional and completely free. Once more thank you for all your help and we know that we'll stay in touch and that we'll be able to rely on you.

We were on a recce in August 07 to Halifax and I contacted Mike and Orla by email. Once I'd told Mike where we were staying he arranged to meet us the morning after we'd landed.
To begin with, there is no pressure to use any of the services that UK2Nova Scotia offers. When researching; let's face it unless you have family here, its done blind. There are a lot of myths and doom and gloom merchants on some expat forums which can send out the wrong signals and feelings for certain subject areas, so it is refreshing to meet someone who can blow them out of the water and finally get the correct facts. Mike soon put us at ease with all the questions we had to ask.
We were offered free assistance; through Mike, in finding a property through Jerry & Annette Murphy at Remax Nova. Jerry took us around, over four days, to areas we liked with no pressure to buy, but plenty of helpful hints on what to look for. We saw around 30 houses, I don't know where they got their patience from. Nothing was too much trouble. A bonus was a free airline ticket to Canada, with ZOOM, from Uk 2Nova Scotia.
It is a daunting time relocating abroad. At no time did we feel intimidated or felt we were being ripped off. Mike and Orla only recommend and use, from our experience, a network of reliable and trustworthy contacts, whose paramount objective is to give you the best service. I would recommend UK2Nova Scotia at any time; they will always get back to you regardless of your query, no matter how trivial. A good all-round package, if they don't know the answer they will know someone who does.
Good luck in your migration,
Andy and Joyce.
I would like to thank you both for all the assistance that you have provided for Julie and I over the past year, since we first met at the Emigrate show at Sandown Park in the UK, up until now sitting in Oakfield in Nova Scotia looking out at the blue sky with snow all around us.
UK 2 Novascotia has provided us with a great deal of useful information and help in arranging everything to make a successful move from the UK to Nova Scotia, this has included great information sheets covering all aspects of the transition, things that normally would be forgotten, right through to advice on bank accounts, quality accommodation, house purchase, vehicle purchase, employment prospects, and the important things like where to get the "Marmite and Branson pickle" and also in putting us in touch with people from the UK that have also emigrated allowing us to share advice and information.
I hope that we may stay friends for many years,
Paul and Julie
The help Mike & Orla have provided my family and I with our planning and move to Nova Scotia has been invaluable.
From personal meetings, emailed questions, plus all the useful information on their website. All the questions you might think are stupid but you still want an answer to one way or the other, don't be afraid to ask as Mike and Orla have the answer or know someone who does.
